I have a 2009 Kia Sedona. I recently had both CVVT's replaced. I continue to get codes P0021, P0022 and P0028. The mechanic can not find the issue? What could be the cause

Best answer

P0021 Camshaft position over timing bank 1

P0022 Camshaft position over timing bank 2

P0028 Intake valve control.

These codes refer to a problem with the OCV (Oil Control Valve) Kia has produced TSB about this condition TSB# KT2009050801.

what type of oil are you using? if the oil is dirty or if you are using the wrong oil weight than recommended it will cause this issue.

5w-20 or 5w-30 depending where you live, I would use Pennzoil Ultra or Platinum or Mobil 1
